About

Hi, my name is Maria, and I am glad you're here!

Hardship and moments of suffering and uncertainty are natural parts of life. Whether you are facing struggles, looking to explore deeper questions, or seeking to improve what already feels like a good life, my goal at Restoration Psychotherapy is to support you on your journey of healing and growth. I offer a non-judgmental space where you can process your thoughts and feelings, cultivate self-awareness, identify behavioral patterns, and gain access to effective coping tools. Many people find that engaging in psychotherapy provides them with an opportunity to reconnect with hope and experience the beginnings of restoration.

I have been providing psychotherapy services since 2016 and am a fully registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I hold a Master's Degree in Counselling from Saint Paul University and an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Carleton University.

Main Area of Practice:

Life Transitions

Life transitions—such as finishing school, starting a new job, becoming a parent, or retiring—can be both exciting and overwhelming. These pivotal moments in life often bring up questions about values, purpose, and direction. In my work, I focus on helping you navigate these changes by aligning your values and goals with your current and future self. By identifying what truly matters to you and setting meaningful goals, we can work together to create a sense of clarity and direction during times of transition. This process fosters growth, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Other Areas of Practice

In addition to life transitions, I also support individuals in navigating a variety of other challenges and opportunities:

Anxiety: Coping with worry, fear, and uncertainty.

Codependence: Exploring patterns of dependency in relationships and fostering healthy boundaries.

Grief and Loss: Supporting you through the process of mourning and healing.

Interpersonal Challenges: Navigating relationship dynamics and improving communication.

Personal Growth and Decision Making: Empowering you to make informed, value-driven decisions.

Processing Life Events: Providing space to reflect and integrate significant events or changes.

Self-Esteem: Building confidence and self-worth.

Stress: Managing overwhelm and finding balance in daily life.

I use a strengths-based approach to therapy that is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I particularly enjoy using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because of the emphasis that it places on connecting with your values and living with psychological flexibility.
